How the devil are you?
We're good. We're here; first day of the Wembley shows having a terrific time, a little hungover.

Are these dates a way of re-aquainting yourselves with the British audience, or is this skiving off from writing the new album?
Yeah, we're trying to make excuses for not writing new songs.

But you have written some new songs though?
Yeah, we've got, live four or five. Mike's got four or five. So we're getting there.

The questions you asked:

Dave: Are you going to be making any videos for the songs on Shenanigans?
No, no videos, just music. Tre's got some interesting homemovies, so maybe. Mostly just mammals mating and stuff.

Charlie: Hey guys, did you not get any backlash from Tre's antics with the Japanese fighting fish?
Tre: Actually they're not exactly Japanese fighting fish, they're from the island of Java, so they're Indonesian fighting fish! Let's get that straight. And no I didn't get any backlash, because they're dead. You pick the fish that you like. If you want to bet on Doppelganger or Smokey, then you put your money in the pot, and they fight to their death.

Does this take over from watching videos on the tour bus?
Tre: No, I just like to play God every now and then!

Jordan: Billie, what do you use in your hair to get it like that?
Murray's Palm 8. It's a cross between surfboard wax and something else. I have sort of a natural afro. Sleep and lack of sleep does it too. We have one of those drying helmets on the bus, so I sit under that too.

Jan: How many guitars have you given away on this tour so far?
I think that we have given away over 30.

So basically you have to keep playing gigs to pay for all the guitars?
Yeah, pretty much. We're in the hole with Fender at the moment! Actually we got demoted down from Fender to Squire.

Lee: Who does Youth Crew backing vocals on Fashion Victim?
That's all three of us, Jason White (the guy who plays second guitar with us) is in there too. He's got a good mook voice, so he's perfect for it.

Tom from Jimmy Eat World: How many dressing rooms have you trashed in the 12 years that you have been rocking?
As a percentage? About 40% - 45%. What's the definition of trashed? We definitely leave them befuddled and dilapidated. So 65% that got away unscathed.

Pablo from Fife: What job would you like to do if you weren't in Green Day?
Billie Joe: That's a hard question to answer. I'd probably drive a beer truck or be a swimming pool cleaner.
Tre : I'd be a ice cream man, selling weed in the hood.

Owen Gillespe: How much does Green Day make in a year?
A lot. More than your Dad!

Samaz: To Billie Joe, how much do you think your songwriting has matured from Why Do You want to through to what you were doing with Warning?.
I don't know, I think that it's definitely done something. I don't know if it has matured. When we started this band we were going through puberty and now we're going through it again. I just think of every record as kind of a different thing. Not necessarily evolving or a maturity thing.

Lee: Billie, what year is your Strat?
It's a copy of a 1956 Fender Strat but it's actually a Fernadez.

When you were recording Nimrod, you said that there were about 15 or 20 songs that didn't make the record, is this a rumour?

Mike: I'm told that the song Stuck With Me from Insomniac isn't the real Stuck With Me beacause there was a misprint on the notes, and Doo Dah Dah was the real one. What's the real name for track 3 on Insomnia?
Stuck With Me.
We should have probably named it something different like World vs. World
Jay: In a fight between Lemmy and God, who would win?
I think they would knock each other out in the third.
Jay: Trick question, Lemmy IS God.

Hardy: What band/bands are out there touring that you think will be the voice of the next decade of punk rock?
Wow, I don't know. I guess it's not us anymore then. Dillinger 4 and The Explosion.

Nick: We've had the greatest hits, we've had the b-sides compilation, does this mean we're close to the end of Green Day? No, I don't think so. we're just cleaning out our closet!
